The Little Details

Colors: Peach & Gold
Theme: Backyard Festival

My goal was to create an atmosphere where people could come and have fun and feel like they could stay all night.
I wanted to be more of a party than a reception. It turned into the best party I ever could have imagined!
Instead of paying way too much money on a photo booth. Because honestly no one ever keeps their photo strip anyway. I decided I'd create my own Instagram backdrop so our guests could have somewhere to take their instas. Also a custom hashtag so we could see everyones creations.

To decorate the path ways we had fresh flowers in pitcher on shepherds hooks.
It was lined with pictures of me and Chase with clothes pins.
The fresh cut flowers were done by Heather at Logolink. She was the biggest help.

As you can tell my mom loves her garden so instead of buying fresh cut flowers we went with live flowers that she could replant later in her garden. I love the look of the dirt in the mason jars!

Tables were rented from Diamond Rental as well as the drink trough pictured below.

Lemonade Bar

Fresh Berry Shortcake

I found the cutest stamp on Etsy that was made with our Initials and our wedding date.

Food by The Bashful Butler
I went with a spread of breads and cheeses, fresh fruit, bruschetta, hummus, and meat skewers.

Snow Cones were done by our neighbors who own the Sumo Snow.
Huge thanks to them! It was probably the biggest his of the night.

Beautiful Cake by Hilary Cavanaugh, Rue de Lis

We were lucky enough to have The Joe Muscolino Band as our music that evening.
It was the cherry on top of the best night of my life.

Here's a bonus shot of our rings. I though it was so cool how she put it on the straws. Obsessed.

Loved every minute on that night. But I'm so glad I never have to plan a wedding ever again!
Marriage is the best.

Formals

Location: American Fork Canyon

First Look
Taking these was the most stressful thing of my life.
Word to the wise practice hair and makeup
beforehand and know how much time to give yourself.
On the bright side they turned out beautiful!
I found my shoes at Mod Cloth
It's the cutest site with vintage style everything. It's a trap.

Val is so talented. This picture kills me every time.

Engagements

The wonderful work of Valory Jean Photography!
She is one of those people that when you see you're instantly happy.
Val was so fun to work with she makes you feel so natural and not like you're awkwardly posing.
Her work is  beautiful! I'm obsessed with these pictures.
So excited to take Bridals this Friday with her!
Wedding Count down: 12 days!

Red Little Gun

You always hear the dreaded registering stories of how awful it is, how long it takes, how fights break out... and pretty much it just plain sucks.

I thought for sure people were crazy and they just had a bad attitude.  I started off so happy and joking around with Chase, who thought he was so funny riding the motorized chair around. It was great! Scanning things like it was my job, pots, pans, cupcake pans, and then... I hit the vacuums I have to get a vacuum?! That's when reality set in. I was creating a home from scratch. SCRATCH!

When I think about my house that I grew up in I think about a home FULL of stuff. So much stuff. How on earth am I suppose to know what plates I want or what style of pans I want or pillow patterns! Thirty minutes into Target I got hit in the face with the fact that I'm growing up and that this goofy little boy riding around in the electronic chair is going to be my partner in creating a home. WEIRD.

Counting my blessings that registering is a once in a life time experience! But I can't wait to have all the cute things we picked out in our own little home. Can't wait!

VOTE

This was my first election I was able to vote!
Even though Utah was already locked in for Romney and wether I voted or not really wouldn't have made a difference. BUT I still got to place my vote and feel like I was a part of something.
As I drove away I couldn't help but think
"I made a difference today"
As simple as it was to go vote how many other 'simple' things could I do in a day to make a difference? The possibilities are endless, from a smile, to taking out the trash all things can make a difference. Which leads me to my new goal:
I choose to make a difference every day.

13.1

This past weekend I ran in the Halloween Half Marathon! All fall I have been training with Alli. We would go running three or four times a week down the canyon, it was so gorgeous!
All to prepare for this crazy event.
We had to be up at 5am. Yes 5am. To then sit up in a tent for two hours at Sundance. It was verrrrry early. And not to mention FREEZING.

The Halloween Half is the most popular half marathon in all of Utah. Everyone dresses up, some go all out and some don't dress up at all. But it was very entertaining to see how crazy some people got! I don't know how they were running in full on masks! Me and Alli went for the Sketchy Devil idea.
[as pictured above]

The first half was so fun and adrenalin was pumping and it felt so good! BUT towards the end... Oh my gosh I wanted to die! All my muscles were cramping and felt so tight. But there was no way I was going to stop! Knowing I had all my loved ones down at the finish line waiting for me was more than enough to keep me going.
[Me and Alli coming in at the end]

[Best fans around! These two crazies]
Chase was a fan of the back side. Which was really everyones favorite part to see as we ran by. :)
So glad I was able to train and run my first half marathon with Alli. All the extra time I got to spend with her made it all worth it. We also got to share the fun day with Cami too. She started with us and then left as wayyyy behind. haha
Here is this little beauty my mom captured of how energized I was after it was all done, If you couldn't tell.

As of right now I'm so sore, I can barley walk,  I don't think I want to run another one. But give me a week or so and I'm sure I'll be training for my next one!
Cross that off the list.
